The Safe Medication PSW Educator may be staff in small or large organizations that have an agreement with ProMask Fit Inc to facilitate Improving Medication Safety in the Community 4-hour education sessions for staff or students. Safe Medication PSW Educator candidates are certified after successful completion of the Improving Medication Safety in the Community Training Workshop and must agree to deliver and support the curriculum according to standards established by ProMask Fit and the Ontario Hospital Association for all education sessions. Educator materials include streamlined manuals, as well as educational and supportive tools. See below for what's involved and how to register for Safe Medication PSW Educator training.

N95 Mask Fit Test
             Train the trainer

ProMask Fit’s Train the Trainer Program for the N95 Qualitative Mask Fit Testing Program will enable organizations to conduct their own in-house N95 Qualitative Mask Fit Testing.

What is an N95?

An N95 fit tested mask must be worn for your protection when caring for patients who have airborne diseases/conditions, such as chicken pox, SARS and tuberculosis. The filter on this respirator is at 95% efficiency level or greater against particulates when tested against a 0.3-micron particle which is free from oil. This is because the N stands for non-resistant to oil. Fit testing is conducted to see what type of N95 respirator should be used by an individual. Our N95 respiratory test uses 3M products which are approved by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).

What is Qualitative N95 Mask Fit Testing?

This method of fit testing is done by first having to take a sensitivity test to determine whether or not you are susceptible to taste either a bitter or a sweet agent. The second part of this test is completed by verifying that you are unable to taste the agent in the sensitivity test which shows that you are wearing your mask correctly. This method of fit testing tests the ability of individuals to wear the N95 respirator which comes in various sizes and shapes. Testing takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes and can be conducted in groups of 1 to 8 participants.
